TIPS ON HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM THE ASHFALL

The phreatic eruption of Taal Volcano that spewed up to 14 kilometers into the air on Janaury 12, led to the spread of volcanic ashes that reached different parts of Metro Manila. People from affected areas

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS ), Taal Volcano’s alert status is currently at Alert Level 4 (imminent hazardous eruption) that was triggered by nonstop eruption which generated a 10 to 15-kilometer ash column with frequent volcanic lighting, continuing volcanic earthquakes, and ashfall.

The Department of Health (DOH) released advisories on the prevention of the hazardous effects of the ashfall which can be seen below:
